Welcome

Welcome to Stride! Empowering parents and practitioners, supporting our Youth: Tailored Resources for Helping Minds Thrive.

Family and Collective Systems Matter

It’s Time to Strengthen the Dynamic Together!

At Stride, we offer mental health resources and interventions designed to be anti-pathology, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed. Our mission is to repair and reconnect family systems using systemic tools and shared narratives.

What Does This Mean?

Anti-Pathology

We avoid labelling individuals as “problems” or focusing solely on symptoms. Instead, we look at the broader context of a person’s life, understanding that challenges often stem from external factors, not just from within the individual.

Anti-Oppressive

Our work aims to actively removes biases and inequalities that affect mental health. We recognise the impact of racism, sexism, and socio-economic pressures on both children and parents. By addressing these systemic barriers, we aim to create a fairer, more supportive environment for families.

Trauma-Informed

We acknowledge the lasting effects of trauma on individuals and families. Our approach is grounded in sensitivity and understanding, creating safety and support for everyone involved.

Our Core Goal: Repair and Reconnect Families

We offer systemic tools that focus on the family as a whole rather than just an individual. By exploring shared narratives—the stories and experiences that shape a family—we help rebuild strong, supportive connections. This approach fosters healing, better communication, and healthier family dynamics.

Our Experience and Commitment

With over 20 years of experience in community, wellbeing, and mental health services, we understand the immense pressures facing these systems. We recognise the many families and young people slipping through the cracks due to limited resources, high thresholds, and long waiting lists.

Stride’s resources are born from this need—to offer families, young people, communities and practitioners an opportunity to engage in a wider process, a vision for collective change.

Listening to Those Who Need It Most

Stride listens to the voices of those who feel unheard or disconnected from services. We respond to those who say, “This isn’t fair,” or “No one understands me,” and “There’s no point anymore.”

Stride is here to be a companion to all the dedicated frontline workers who tirelessly, and often in states of burnout, work to close gaps and tackle systemic barriers to health and wellbeing. Together, we can make a difference.
